As the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival draws closer bets are hotting up for the lead up event in the 2010 Expressway Stakes taking place on Saturday.
Placed as the sixth race of the day and hosting a top quality small field of eight, the Group 2 Expressway Stakes will certainly be giving a good indication as to the outcome of the bigger races later this year. Coming into Saturday’s race at the Rosehill Gardens Racecourse there are two geldings currently sitting at the top of Sportsbets odds.
Danleigh and Rangirangdoo are both favourites for the race at $3.40.
Danleigh and Rangirangdoo are both favourites for the race at $3.40. The six-year-old Danleigh is always one to watch coming into the 2010 Expressway Stakes with two Group 1 wins behind him, while the five-year-old Rangirandoo also has a good history.
Dao Dao has the inside barrier along with being placed at the Hong Kong Champions Mile on his side and is at $6.
The Clarry Connors-trained Court, along with the Anthony Cummings-trained Prima Nova, are the only mares starting the 2010 Expressway Stakes – at $11 and $34 respectively.
Out-wide in the eighth barrier, three-year-old Gathering closes the odds at $67, offering punters a substantial win if he delivers on Saturday. The colt could indeed do so having been second at the Spring Champion Stakes.
